Working from contemporary accounts of the Columbia vs Defender 1899 America's Cup trials - coupled with meticulous research of drawings and available models of the yachts - John has painted The Jibe on a sweeping 46" x 29" canvas. We recorded the whole process and present an animation of his work as it progressed.
