John has returned to his favorite view: close to a large
powerful racing yacht, approaching at speed.
It's Ranger, the last and greatest of the J-Class sloops that
raced for the America's Cup between 1930 and 1937.
The New York Yacht Club's syndicate headed by Harold Vanderbilt
commissioned Starling Burgess and 29 year old Olin Stephens
to design the defender for the 1937 event.
